Privacy Policy

The short version: your photos are processed only while you're deciding, are never stored, and are never used to train anything.
1. Who we are
Styla ("we", "us") provides Styla Personal Stylist, a mobile app that gives AI-powered styling advice from photos you choose to share ("the Service"). This policy explains what the Service does with information when you use it. Questions any time: contact@styla.ca.
2. Photos
When you photograph or upload clothing, the image is sent over an encrypted connection to our styling server so the AI stylist can answer you. Photos are held only in memory, only for the length of your session — they are never written to disk or long-term storage, and they are deleted automatically when your session ends or after 30 minutes of inactivity, whichever comes first. You can also end a session in the app at any time, which deletes its photos immediately.
To generate advice, photos are processed during your session by our AI provider (Anthropic's Claude API) acting as a processor on our behalf. We do not permit our providers to use your photos to train their models.
3. Style memory
The app can learn your colour and fit preferences from how you use it. That style memory is stored only on your device. It is never uploaded to our servers as a stored profile, and you can view it or wipe it completely at any time from the "Your style" screen in the app.
4. Information we collect
The Service currently works without an account, and we do not collect your name, contacts, or location. Our servers keep standard, short-lived technical logs — timestamps, response codes, and an IP address used for rate limiting and abuse prevention — which are needed to keep the Service running and are not linked to an identity.
If we introduce optional accounts in the future, we will update this policy before they launch and describe exactly what an account stores. Creating an account will never change the photo promise above.
5. What we never do
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not share your photos or data with third parties for their own purposes.
- We do not show ads or use advertising trackers.
- We do not use your photos to train AI models, and we do not permit our providers to.
6. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
7. Your choices
You control every photo the Service ever sees — nothing is captured without you taking or choosing it. You can end a session at any time to delete its photos immediately, and wipe the on-device style memory whenever you like. Because photos are not retained, there is no stored photo archive to request or delete.
8. Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and material changes will be flagged in the app before they take effect.
